Situated on the north-east coast of Bali, Amed has many small hotels spread through several villages, and an original Balinese charm.. With black sand, some great coral walls and slopes it is excellent for Macro divers, as well as for reef dives. Due to the currents out beyond the points there is a large variety of fish, despite the bays being sheltered.

Depth: 3-40 metres (everages depth 18m)
Visibility: 15 to 25 metres
Current: Jemeluk and Japanese Wreck: None to Mild; Bunutan and Gili Selang: can be strong (tide dependent).
Min. Level: Beginner
Dive Types: Shore and Jukung diving (local boats). Reef, wall, wreck diving
Conditions:
Black sand beach sloping into the water, warm temperatures and mild currents. When using jukungs for a boat dive, equipment is put on and taken off in the water, ladders are provided.
Highlights:
Diversity of sites from muck to reef, and amazing coral formations. Excellent sites for snorkelers as there is a lot to see just below the surface.
